Where is Earth?

Today I sat down and read a book to the class called 'Michael Recycle'. The story is about a town where the people are wasteful and lazy. They are visited by a superhero called Michael Recycle, who helps them clean things up. This discussion began when I read the page, "A green-caped crusader stupendously swooped, descending to Earth with a great loop-the loop."

Miss Bell: Where is Earth?
Campbell: It is up in space. Up in the sky
GW: Do you think Earth gets hot?
Miss Bell: We could find out.
Claire: How do we find out?
Eva: Look in a book.
Campbell: We could get a big ladder and see.
TP: We could get a telescope to look.
Eva: A trampoline to jump up.
Vida: Does anyone have a long ladder.
Thomas: I have a long one.
Campbell: I have a really, really long one.
Vida: It would have to go all the way to the sky
Campbell: The Earth is hot.
Claire: I know there are lots and lots and lots of moons and colours and there is a yellow one that has a circle with lots and lots of rings around it.
Campbell: Broken bones hurt. Ow ow ow.
Miss Bell: What do you mean Campbell?
Campbell: If you fell off the really long ladder your bones will break.
